SA Express to auction its assets in an attempt to avoid final liquidation
The airline's provisional liquidators have placed jets, engines and other equipment on auction.
SA Express’ provisional liquidators have started auctioning more of the airline’s assets as they try to avoid a final liquidation and the loss of its operating license.
GoIndustry DoveBid SA has advertised an auction of the airline’s Bombardier jets, engines, other equipment as well as licenses and other infrastructure required to operate an airline in South Africa.
The advert also states that it is accepting offers for either the assets or the sale of the business in its entirety as a going concern.
SA Express was placed into provisional liquidation in April after its business rescue practitioners and the Department of Public Enterprises could not agree on a rescue plan.
The advert requests that parties express their interest by no later than 3pm on 21 July 2020.
